We assigned Hannah to be Hermana Hardy's Compañera for the evening. Hannah took this assignment very seriously :)

~ Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic and west of the US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands.

~ Explorer Christopher Columbus discovered the island in 1493, one year after he discovered the Americas. He named it San Juan Bautista, after John the Baptist.

~ Languages: Spanish & English.

~ Major Religion: Catholic.

~ Currency: US Dollar.

~ Temperatures: Located in the tropics, the island has an average temperature of 82.4 °F throughout the year.

~ Popular Sports: Basketball, volleyball and boxing.

~ Main Exports: Chemicals, electronics, tuna, rum & medical equipment. Their economy thrives from tourism, RX, manufacturing & technology.

~ The largest telescope in the world is located in Puerto Rico. It is used to look at asteroids in space, and determine if any ever get too close to the Earth’s surface.
